With Your Child's Dental Care
One of the most important parts of dentistry for children is psychology. Our dentists are taught how to create a friendly, fun, social atmosphere for children. Dental fears beginning in childhood often continue later in life, so it is very important that children have positive experiences and find their “dental home” as early as possible.
Dentists fulfill many important functions regarding your child’s overall oral health and hygiene. They place particular emphasis on the proper maintenance and care of baby teeth, which are a big part in facilitating good chewing habits and proper speech.

Humans are creatures of habit, and we develop those habits at a young age. Since children learn most of their behavior and habits from their parents, leading by example is the best thing you can do to teach your child about building great oral habits. Let your child watch you floss, brush, and rinse every day. If your child is having a difficult time, having your child practice by brushing your teeth is a great place to start. Other parents have had great results by:
- Turning brushing into a game
- Singing tooth brushing songs
- Putting on their favorite tv show to distract them
- Getting them a toy brush to practice on their toys
- Reward with stickers
